This is a beautiful vintage men's Swiss-Made Hertig mechanical, gold plated watch with a seconds subdial.
About This Watch:
During the 1930's a man called Charles Hertig established and began the selling of watches in portugal. He manufactured watches under the brand Hertig and caused a popularity of them throughout Portugal. Hertig would go on to rebrand specific Certina watches by using Certina Swiss-Made movements in their watches. Somewhere between 1930 to 1950 Hertig started used several Certina movements in their watches - included the 15 Jewels KF330 which is found in this watch. The KF330 was used in Hertig watches from around 1948 and consists of mechanical winding an a seconds subdial (registering 60 seconds).
This watch is in good working order with it keeping accurate time and the 'wind-up' function being tested. The watch's dial has acquired beautiful light patina over the many years (patina refers to this natural aging process of the timepieces that generally alters the hands, hour markers, and dials of the watch face. Collectors believe this patina adds character as every scratch, faded numeral and discolouring represents a story of the watch's past. Complementing this the gold plating on the watch case and bracelet has faded in specific places, leaving behind a beautiful vintage look.
